Carla Magnaye Poole has the tenacity and grit to handle the challenges of the job but also has the benevolence and compassion when a situation calls for it. She came to Hillman, Brown, & Darrow with 13 years of professional experience under her belt, working as a law enforcement officer and consulting on local and national projects in the areas of emergency preparedness and response. Ms. Poole demonstrates high integrity and handles her cases with the utmost care, communicating honestly and transparently with her clients and developing holistic strategies to reach the best possible outcomes.
Ms. Poole attended the University of Baltimore School of Law with a concentration in family law and graduated cum laude in 2019. She received top scores in all her family law classes and is certified to conduct mediation for general and family matters. While in law school, Ms. Poole was also employed full-time and raising a family, including three young children.
Ms. Poole was born in Quezon City, Philippines and moved to the D.C. Metropolitan area at a young age. She and her family now call Annapolis home, and she is an active member of the community, working with local sports clubs to increase diversity and access to their programs across all populations and doing advocacy work with victims of domestic violence and family abuse/neglect. Additionally, when time permits, Ms. Poole provides pro bono services through the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland and the ABA/FEMA Disaster Legal Assistance Program.
