SmartCEO Power Players Awards Recognition

Samuel J. Brown was recognized by SmartCEO, Power Players Awards in Washington DC.  On November 18th, Washington SmartCEO acknowledged the top business elite in the area who symbolize leadership, innovation and philanthropy as “Power Players” at their Inaugural Smart CEO Power Players Awards Ceremony. According to SmartCeo, the few chosen professionals have made an outstanding impact amongst their professional industries and local communities. As stated by Jaime Nespor, the regional president of SmartCEO, “They represent the best of what the region has to offer and are committed to fostering the region’s success, now and in the future. We are proud to recognize them for their dedication and passion.”

Sam is the senior partner at Hillman, Brown & Darrow and  was among those recognized by SmartCEO. Hillman, Brown & Darrow was formed by  Sam, his business partner and fellow Senior Partner, Michael Darrow and Richard Hillman in 1979, after the passing of the firm’s original, founding father, Noah Hillman. During his time working with Noah Hillman and through the involvement of his family, Sam learned the importance of giving back to the community and staying involved.  It is with those principles that he has  runs his practice and instill these principles  in all of his attorneys at Hillman Brown and Darrow. When asked by SmartCEO what he loved most about practicing law, he replied, “Just about everything:  the people I meet, the spontaneous on your feet arguments in court, the positive reinforcement from someone who has had a good day in or out of court.  It is fulfilling to see someone recover from a bad time and develop a better relationship with their children or parents.  I thoroughly enjoy meeting with people and finding out who they are and being interviewed by the paper and other publications to tell them my position on things…. walking down the street of one of the most beautiful cities in America and being able to talk to people and them knowing who I am.  There is a lot of gratification in what I do.”
